Prepare Youth to Take On The Challenges That Life Throws at Them

Equine Assisted Learning programs are interactive youth programs, specifically designed to ensure the learning and retention of necessary life skills to aid in each youth’s personal recovery or growth. The program is designed to be fun and challenging as the participants are working with a horse. The value of using horses as a teaching tool to learn new skills have been proven time and time again in the teaching of young people and especially teenagers. The use of an equine assisted learning program is a unique way to teach young people.

 

Each exercise is custom designed to maximize learning potential and focus on developing individual skills as they work through each fun interactive group challenge. Teams will work to:

• develop relationships;

• accept responsibility and accountability;

• overcome barriers to find change;

• be encouraged to be creative and innovative;

• find opportunity in working together;

• realize the benefits associated with effective communication;

• and recognize the value of mutual trust, respect, and personal integrity.

Who can benefit from this program?

 

All youth can benefit from an EAL program, but we specialize in youth with behavioral issues, addictions, low self esteem, bullying and a variety of other challenges that today’s youth are facing everyday.  Over the last several years our youth have suffered from a lack of socialization on a personal level with limited access to school settings, team sports or other recreational pursuits. 

 

This program is designed so that the participants recognize that the skills learnt in the arena are necessary for healthy, meaningful relationships in the “real world” outside of the arena. This program empowers our youthful participants with skills that will stay with them not only today, tomorrow but the rest of their lives.
